You Want 2013 To Be Better Than 2012, Now What?

If you’re in business, then the likelihood is that you’re sat around at the moment very much like I am – I can’t last as long as society asks me to without working at this time of year! Unfortunately there isn’t a lot for me to do, because everything was scheduled up and actioned before the country stopped.

Luckily for me, I have the same opportunities as you do during this period – this is a time for planning, for target setting, and for dreaming. I know that this time of year brings about lots of inward thinking in business people. We ask ourselves questions like “Did I do enough?”, “What could I have done better?” and “Where should my business be this time next year?”. No doubt you, like me, will also come up with grandiose plans and targets which seem great at the time but feel a lot more daunting come mid January.

Setting the targets and dreaming big is the easy bit, but actually avoiding the trap of falling into the same habits as 2012 will be the key to success in 2013.

So, you’ve made some plans. What next? Make them happen. Get them done.

I’m trying to practise what I preach. I want 2013 to be a great year for fifty6 so I’ve spent a lot of my festive period moving us to our new office, ready for new members to join our team. These new members will help us to improve on our offering to clients and guarantee that 2013 ends on another high – I can’t wait to be as little of a hypocrite as possible!

What are you planning to push yourself forwards this coming year? Please comment below to let me know.
